Hmm, it's been quite some time since I last blogged. Apparently Twitter and Facebook have been monopolizing all my internet time and I now condense my thoughts into 140 characters or less.

Anyways, found this yarn at Close Knit (In Evanston, recently moved so that was a fun adventure - they didn't move far but Google maps still had them at the old location and so I got to walk around Evanston more than I thought I would). Its super soft, should knit up nicely into a fun looking pattern and I'm about to embark on my first sock adventure! Just have to find the pattern I want to use.

The cons are that 1) they didn't give me a sock pattern to use on the inside and 2) upon inspection of the inside of the label I'm told due to the silk, it may pill. Oh well, good thing no one will really see any pilling of my socks I guess.

glitten #1

Glittens (glove + mitten) were requested for Christmas. Having never made them I had to learn a whole lot of stuff (like how to use dpns and knit in the round). It's terribly complicated and a lot more detail oriented then I'm used to, and the thumb turned out crazy huge (I'm thinking I used the wrong needle size). But hopefully the right hand turns out better and I get all the kinks worked out for the gift pair ;)
