This is my first *finished* knitting project :) I've been knitting for 17+ years, but this is the first time I've ever finished a project, lol. I just learned how to cast off with this one, oddly enough I have plenty of half started scarves I have yet to finish. So the plan is to make a bunch of these little squares and then sew them all together so I have myself a nifty patchwork afghan. I figure this will help me learn to knit, nice even stiches (I still end up dropping or splitting them, or worse with holes in them). Also, they aren't terribly big so they finish easily, which gives me a wonderful sense of satisfaction as I complete them :) so here is one ~ I have no idea how many more I'll need to make, but I certaintly had fun picking out pretty soft yarns to make them out of ;)

Bravo! Hang in there. Your knitting will get neater and you'll get faster with each square you do. It's not really how long you've knitted, it's how much - and you're racking up some serious knit time, just in little pieces, and that's what counts.
I can't wait to see pics of your patchwork afghan!
