so i finished the scarf on a nice long bus ride to go to a pottery town in japan :) karen slept most of the time so i just listened to my ipod and knitted away ~ she loves the scarf so that's good since it's my first finished gift for anyone (its the first thing i've really ever finished to be honest :-p)

knitting
since i have a lot of free time while my sister is at work, i'm putting that time to good use by knitting her a thank you scarf :) i'm new to knitting so its just a garter stitch, but the yarn is super soft and i love the color so it doesn't need anything terribly fancy ;)

new knitting needles
i only brought a pair of circular needles and i was having issues following my pattern :( so i decided that i needed regular needles for a more soothing vacation with knitting. so i bought myself some wooden needles ~ what a wonderful souvenir from my trip to japan as well :) i started knitting on them today and i love them!
